Rome went for minimal weight and a high-volume fit when it created the Men’s Marshall Snowboard Boot. Thanks to the ConFormist.4 liner, this boot hugs your foot like a glove (if gloves were for feet), and the QuadZone lining gives you plush materials where you need them and foot-holding fabrics to minimize slippage. Rome went with an ultralight three-part outsole that includes IceClimber tread keeps you upright when you’re hiking the steps to hit an urban rail for the 40th time that morning.

The shell of the rome is more flexible and the liner is softer, but the ankle laces hold your heel and foot down so securely it is ridiculous!
The Burton Ruler has a stiffer feel to it, this makes it a little more resposive, but you get a little more heel lift because the lacing isn't as secure.
Overall, If you are more casual I think The Rome is more confortable and secure.
If you are into speed and lots of quick turns, you'll want a stiffer boot like the ruler.

Rome boots are alwas more comfy and personally i like laces better but the burtons boots are ok. I was looking at the marshall's myself and if they came in the right size i would alredy have me a pair.

This boot Is Super Comfy right out of the box. I recommend going a half size down from your regular shoe size. I usually wear a 10 in running shoes and casual shoes. so the 9.5 was a perfect fit! I have already tested the 2010 version of this boot and it is even better!I love the inside-out lacing. you can tighten the lacing that holds your ankle down without un-doing the outside laces. THE HEEL HOLD IS THE BEST ON THE MARKET!My Only Complaint is that overall, the boot is too soft for all mountain use. This is deffinately a Freestyle jumps and rails and boxes kind of boot.What I have done with mine, is i have put a ton of foward lean on my bindings(Burton Missions), and the boot conforms perfectly into the bindings so that i get a ton of response when transitioning from edge to edge!Ask me a question on here and i'll try to answer it.
