When you value freestyle creativity as much as fresh tracks.

Splitboards have come a long way since the days of being limited to big powder guns and gigantic swallowtails. Staying true to Rome's envelope-pushing ethos, the Rome Double Agent Splitboard takes a freestyle-specific approach to backcountry riding with its almost twin shape and poppy, carbon-infused construction. Essentially a true twin between the effective edge i.e. what touches the snow the Double Agent easily rides and lands switch for premier performance off backcountry kickers and natural features, such as windlips, cliff lines, and pillow zones. Additionally, a slightly elongated nose helps you plane through deep powder without submerging or bogging down.

Designed with a FreePop Rocker profile, the Double Agent is flat underfoot for a neutral-feeling board that rides predictably without becoming unnerving or squirrely at high-speeds. Adding a bit more float, especially since the board is sized-down from traditional splits, the nose and tail rocker up, helping you stomp backcountry jumps without ragdolling into powder. The SuperPop Core Matrix feels snappy underfoot with its long Poplar wood segments and three zones of low-density wood. StraightTriax 30 laminates strike a nice balance between responsiveness and easy torsional flex, allowing you to quickly rail turns without the board being unnecessarily stiff.

Furthermore, the board's Carbon Double Barrel HotRods consist of snappy carbon tubes that extend to the contacts for enhanced power when you're sending big booters and slashing your way down the mountain. Note that the Double Agent comes with industry-leading Karakoram clips that remove slop along the seam, essentially eliminating high-speed chatter at the tip and tail.

  • SuperPop Core Matrix
  • StraightTriax 30 laminate

Golden Gift

  • Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I bought this for my brother's golden birthday and my idea to spray paint all of his belongings gold quickly became the worst decision I ever made. This board is too amazing to spray paint gold. The snow hasn't accumulated enough yet to use the splitboard where he lives but initial impressions are two thumbs up. He's 6'1" and a pretty skinny dude and I got the 155 for him and he thinks it's the perfect fit. He's located at school in Bozeman this winter and I can't wait to get his pictures from the side country and skipping class.

everyone needs one.

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

ITs a bad ass snowboard, the legend, the board that made Rome. The Agent! Its a spitboard, great access, easy to maneuver, go anywhere.
Its cheap. Seriously, its less than it should be and less than its competitors. So, why doesn't everyone already have one? The beauty of a split board is when you turn it into "skis" its still a snowboard. As a snowboard, you can't beat a Rome Agent.
