The Brigade of camber believers.
Even with all the new rockers and hybrid profile designs that are floating around, it's good to see that traditional camber still has a place in the snowboard industry. Some of the hottest boards on the market are made with a variation on traditional camber. The Rome Brigade Snowboard uses one of these variations; Rome calls it NoHang-Ups Pop. It's traditional camber throughout with concave 3D rocker sections at the tip and tail. The result is a high level of edge control and loads of pop with a surfy, playful feel and no more hooked edges.
The folks at Rome laid up the Brigade with tried-and-true wood laid tip-to-tail. Two zones of lightweight wood team up with poplar for smooth, predictable flex and loads of pop. Then they added bamboo rods at the tip and tail to stiffen them up a bit and add even more pop to the mix. Rome's designers also added fiberglass impact plates under the binding inserts to eliminate compression caused by high-impact landings, and finished off the Brigade with a durable, easy-to-repair, extruded Impact base.

No Hang Ups kills it!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I'm a huge fan of Rome's No Hang-Up's Pop camber, because I love the stability and pop of camber underfoot, but the 3D profiling in the nose and tail makes the Brigade super quick edge-to-edge with tons of float in the powder. I've ridden it in pretty much every condition and it excelled. It's stable off jumps, easy to press on rails, floats in powder, and it super stable on groomers and through icy conditions. It is slightly set back, so it's best for all-mountain riding but I loved it everywhere.
