Not all variations of rockers are created equal. And we're not talking about music (you know, hard rock vs. metal), but rather, which way your board is bent. The Rome Anthem SS Snowboard knows it's wrong to say that the rocker shape that butters rails in the park will give you the same performance when you're freeriding, bombing steep lines, fast carving, snorkeling waist deep powder in the backcountry, or hitting natural and man-made jumps. That's why it uses Rome's Hybrid RipIt camber to perform mostly like a traditional cambered board with just a bit of greasy, head-banging rocker goodness on the nose and tail.

  • Hybrid RipIt camber profile provides a mostly cambered shape with just enough rocker to disengage from the snow about 15cm before the contact points
  • PressurePop KEVLAR® and basalt plates laid in a reverse-v pattern transfer energy from your bindings to the tip and tail and create a super-strong platform for big landings
  • KEVLAR® impact plates under the bindings add strength underfoot to further reduce the chance of a broken board when you stick a 50-footer
  • Thin Carbon Torque HotRods are milled into slots that run from the end contact points for additional pop and torque in turns
  • Airpop Core uses ultralight wood with added bamboo for strength so you get the power and flex you need without the added weight
  • Ultralight CarbonBiax Laminate offers power shredders super-smooth flex designed to snap out quick turns and bounce down pillow lines
  • SinterCarbon.2 base features hard carbon nanoadditives to create the fastest, hardest base in the Rome line

AK Slayer...

Rode the 161 in Alaska last spring. I'm a big fan of the Hybrid camber, it rides short when making low angle turns at slower speeds, but then rides long when you let the board run. Next spring when I head back I may step up to a 163, but I had absolutely no complaints on the 161.
