SID XX World Cup Fork - Solo Air 100 29in MaxleLite15

For nearly two decades, the RockShox Sid has been the standard in lightweight XC forks. Over the years, the fork has seen a ton of innovations come and go. One innovation that looks like it isn’t go anywhere is 29-inch wheels. While that’s great for us, the riders, it presents a few serious challenges for fork manufacturers. Longer fork legs and bigger wheels mean flex in steering and braking, not to mention weight. Don’t lose any sleep over it, though—RockShox has figured it out and the Sid is better than ever.

In the areas of weight and stiffness, RockShox kills two birds with one integrated carbon fiber steerer tube/crown assembly. Power Bulges around the lower bushings also stiffen things up, and the Maxle thru-axle system keeps things stiff on the lower end of the fork. All told, the Sid tips the scales at a claimed 3.25 pounds. That’s an impressive number, and one that the Sid has had difficulty reaching in the past, even with 26-inch wheels.

Of course, there were other considerations with the design of the Sid. The damper system is RockShox’ most advanced—the XX DNA Motion Control Damper. This damper uses separate circuits for high- and low-speed compression, which allows you to dial the feel of your Sid to your exacting specifications on both big and small bumps.

The Sid XX World Cup also comes with the XLoc hydraulic remote lockout system for efficient out-of-the saddle climbing. To keep everything clean on your dashboard, the XLoc remote hooks up to your SRAM Matchmaker system.
