The Pike’s 35mm stanchions offer stiffness unmatched by most XC-leaning forks, which is a huge benefit to larger, more inherently flexy wheels. This stiffness is backed up by RockShox’s preset damper; with locked out, trail-tuned, and fully open options, you can hammer up the climbs, and still keep the pack away on the descents.   • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I've run this fork for 10 months on my Niner Jet 9 RDO. Yeah yeah that's a 100mm rear travel XC bike, but the 130mm version of this fork lets me run it really soft. I then added the volume reducing spacers to have the fork ramp up at the bottom of the stroke to keep it from bottoming out. This took a great bike and made it an AWESOME bike. Trust me...ditch your XC fork and ride this fork on your XC bike. Once you go Pike, you never go back.
