Enduro and trail riders of all stripes have been crushing on the trail-shredding Pike for years now, but the new RockShox Lyrik RCT3 Dual Position Air 160 Boost 29in/27.5 Plus Fork is a hard-riding enduro fork that’s even stiffer, lighter, and more aggressive than its highly regarded predecessor. Most of the differences are in the body, which has been beefed up a bit to add stiffness and better tracking, so you can blast through rugged lines without having to slow down and pick your way around obstacles. It’s also been updated to run Boost hubs, which add another level of stiffness and control to the game.
RockShox also tweaked the design of its Rapid Recovery feature, so the Lyrik has even better small-bump compliance than the Pike, and it’s also been outfitted with a new SKF cartridge seal and Dual Position Air spring, which add up to a smoother stroke and less brake dive. The RCT3 Charger damper and smooth Fast Black return unchanged, as do the three-position compression switch, low-speed compression adjustment, and rebound adjustment. The design tweaks let the Lyrik last longer between services, which means less time in the shop and more getting rowdy.
