Comfort is everything
Handlebar preference is a fickle matter. There's a veritable cornucopia of options for the nitpicky -- sweep, rise, width, and materials. But, for the traditionalist who's not afraid of modernity, the Ritchey WCS 2X Handlebar is ideal. Featuring a minimalist design and Ritchey's triple-butted alloy construction, the 2X is the perfect complement to any 29er or tall head tube frame.
If you're anything like us, your perfect handlebar needs to be both lightweight and wide. Well, the WCS 2X handlebar delivers on both criteria. The stance sits at a super-wide 720mm, and the weight comes in around a feathery 235g. Mating the tried-and-true WCS alloy construction with +/- five degrees of rise and nine degrees of sweep, Ritchey created a heightened level of comfort for tall head tube frames. The rise is low enough to keep you aggressively positioned, but your wrists maintain a neutral bend. End result? Wrists and shoulders that are ready to ride again after a 40 mile day on the mountain.
And expanding the WCS' versatility is a new feature to 2013 -- the 2X design. This allows you to run the bar with either a positive five degree rise, or a negative five degree rise, while maintaining the same nine degrees of sweep. So, you can aggressively position yourself for XC racing on Saturday, and flip the bars over for comfortable handling for an all-day trail ride on Sunday.
The Ritchey WCS 2X Handlebar is available in the color Black and in a 720mm width. It has +/- five degrees of rise and nine degrees of sweep. Please note that this handlebar is only compatible with 31.8mm clamp diameter stems.
