  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

These are easily the best on the water tool that I own for fly fishing, truly invaluable. Smooth magnetic tips allow you to de barb your hooks easily and pluck those size 22's out of your box no problem. The scissor feature on these allow you to leave your nippas in your bag to travel ultra lightweight with nothing but these pliers. Three stage closure system allows you to clip the pliers just about anywhere. A nice little hidden feature is a hole in the metal section of one of the handles. Hook your fly into that and pull your line tight. This will save your finger tips from getting a nasty stab from the hook and allow you to really snug up your leader or tippet.

Perfect tool and perfect size

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This is an all around great tool. Fits perfectly in the hands and easy to control, great grip and closes tight when not in use and doesnt pop off. I also love the scissor part for quickly cutting line. Highly recommend!

Best forceps I've found!

These are the best forceps I have found yet! The mitten clap design verses having finger hole leads to less tangles with your line and forceps. These also have a nice fine tip for grabbing small flies. The jaws are not textured so they don't tear up your flies, and the scissors are great for any on river cutting you may need to do. Only beef I have with these are that on little midge you need to be careful when you bend your barbs because these grip so well sometimes they can break the hook on 22s and small if you are not paying attention. This is far from a deal breaker for me though! The most useful tool I own!

One other thing worth mentioning is that some mitten clamp style forceps can pinch your hand while gripping. These open and close in a way that that cannot happen!
