    Really the only option

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

There really is no other tapered fishing leader that I would use other than the Powerflex from RIO.
These are great for any type of fly fishing; dry, nymph, or streamer. These give the fly a great natural presentation, very delicate on those tiny dries but stout enough to throw a big terrestrial or a streamer. I go with the 3 pack in the 9' length, gives you a lot to work with before you have to switch to a new leader.
Never a bad idea to pick up some new leaders, I am buying new leaders and tippet all the time. For general trout fishing I suggest 3-6x.

    The leader of leaders

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Hate running into snags, knots, and breaks when you are out on the river? Fear not, this leader will lead, no pun intended, to the valhalla of fly fishing. Whether tackling those finicky trout in high mountain canyons or reeling in the catch of a lifetime, this leader is my go to. Reliable, consistent, and easy to tie on, this is the winner.

    My preferred Leader

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I haven't fished many different leaders, but I have had luck with these. I like the 9 foot in the 5X. It's definitely nice to have them in a three pack. Take care of your leader and tippet, and you'll catch fish!

    my go to

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my leader of choice. Not nearly as expensive as flouro, and depending on your application this might be the leader you want to go with. Never snapped on me (unless it was user error). Also very easy to take out of the package and use immediately, meaning it's simple to straighten out. Been using this product for 4 years, consistently, and never been dissapointed.

    Count me in

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

...on the 5-star band wagon. I've found these to have less line memory than some of the other leader brands I've tried. Usually one pass through the leader straightener and you're set (if they've been rolled up again).

    A Fine Leader!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Everything you could ask for in a leader! With preformed loops it is easy to attach to your fly line! I have the 7.5ft and 9.0ft for creeks and rivers accordingly. Seem super easy to unroll. I have not used anything else so I am not used to other issues with leader. I attached this tippet to this leader:

    The Best All-Pupose Leader

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Easy to unroll, Easy to attach. The taper to this leader allows it to be used for multiple purposes and does not connect debris/ weeds like knotted leaders. Easily attach a smaller tippet with a blood not when presenting your smaller flies.

    Works as intended

They work just as well as all the other tapered leaders that I've used, but they do seem to be easier to "unroll" when you first take them out of the package. My Orvis leaders would always tangle up, but the Rio ones have so far been much easier.
