Serious support for charging hard in any terrain.

Take your riding to new levels of crazy with the Ride Men's Insano Focus Boa Snowboard Boot. Lightweight enough to wear in the park and supportive enough to stomp the biggest cliffs, the Insano is loaded with top-shelf features for a locked-down fit that keeps your feet feeling awesome all day.

The Boa Focus closure features two reels so you can independently tighten two different zones of the boot so you can dial in the perfect fit in a matter of seconds, every time. It also has The Closer lace guide so tension is distributed evenly throughout the boot. The Intuition Dream Liner sports multi-density foam for maximum rebound and comfort, and it's heat-moldable for a custom fit. Lock Down Turbo liner lacing keeps your foot securely in place, and the Tallboy Harness extends higher above the ankle for extra support.

Harsh landings are mitigated by the shock-absorbing Impacto insole and Gel Pod heel. The Blown Light Apex outsole is so light you'll forget you're wearing boots, yet is grippy enough to maintain traction on icy terrain. Thermo-moldable J-bars keep your heel locked down for better response and less fatigue, and the new articulating cuff and 3D-formed tongue allow for more natural flex.

So far so good

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Right out of the box, these boots were comfortable, nice and snug, allowed for very minimal heel lift, and had a stiff but not overly-stiff flex. So far I've only ridden in them twice but they have felt fantastic and worked great with my Diodes and Jones Flagship. I'd recommend sizing down a full size with these boots. My street shoe size is 12 and I got these in 11. At first I was afraid I had sized down 1/2 size too much, but by the second day riding I could feel them packing out a bit and am confident the 11's will work out.

i found the sizing small. I was an 11 in my DC superparks so ordered 11 in the insanos and they are small. I would recommend going up half a size or trying them on before you buy them like i did

Insane Pain

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

After two seasons I started having extreme ankle pain. Turns out it's the lower cable that tightens via the wheel on the outside of the foot. There is a wire, housed in some sort of metal sheath, that goes from where the lace leaves the tongue area and then travels from the medial section of the foot, around the calf, to the dial on the outside.

That sheath is now pulling away from the liner and digging into my ankle. J-bars, pads, etc. aren't helping. Looking for some flexible plastic shims I can insert to try to prevent it. Otherwise, they're toast.

Wish i bought these from Backcountry, but they were a gift from elsewhere, otherwise they'd have come through with something for me.
