they were good but the goggle lock is a clip on so it fell off and I can't use it for snowboarding. The ear pads also come off easily and they fell off too. Besides that a good helmet,

I have never worn a helmet that felt so good on my head. It may be all Red helmets, but this thing just fits the best. Its thick padding is very comfortable, and the two ear pads are actually part of the same piece that has material connecting it along the back underside of the helmet. I have it in matte gray, and it did pick up some black scratches fairly easily. I sometimes like to wear a hat and goggles underneath the helmet, so I removed the pads but had to cover each thing of velcro inside the helmet with tape so it wouldn't fray my goggles and hat. the clip just slides out but hasn't come out by accident for me yet. You can feed ear buds through a hole in the back and have them inside the earpad, which is really hadny. its great for stickers too.

After trying on a lot of different helmets this is the only one that fit me well. I have a weird shaped head so these things take time for me. Also it was the only one that worked well so i'm kinda stuck with it.

Pros:

*Keeps my head warm without being to warm. Also the ear pads are removable which means that spring riding i can pull them out and stay cool.

This is about where the good stops.

Cons:

*Google clip in the back will either break or fall out after the first good thrash you take. Without this piece your goggles will not stay on yoru helmet. I now wear my googles under my helmet :(
*Remember those removable earpads? Well they always fall out when i take the helmet off. And because they are nice to have out in the spring I haven't gorilla glued them back in.
*The entire Styrofoam protection disconnected from the hard plastic shell. This was and easy fix with some gorilla glue but until the fix it would rattle at high speeds (incredibly annoying)

So yeah. Look around and get something else... unless your stuck with this beater.

i never rode with a helmet, but recently decided that there is no reason why i cant be safer. i chose this helmet because it is compatible with my anon goggles and it is reasonably priced. the helmet is lightweight and can be adjusted for the best fit, all you have to do is take out the felt inserts. one thing to know about these helmets is that some colors have designs on the back which are not visible on backcountry.com, but when i was comparing prices with other websites I came across photos of the helmets from all angles and made the decision to get the gray helmet with the green graffiti design. overall. im happy with my purchase and recommend it to others.

Bought this helmet because it had clean, sleek look without any graphics on it. Unfortunately the pics do not show that it has large green, ugly graphic on the back (I bought a grey helmet). I promptly returned this. As for quality and construction.... you get what you pay for. For $50ish you can tell it is not of the greatest quality and the fit wasn't that comfortable. Overall not bad though. Here is some free advice for Backcountry: Don't post only one view of an item that item has visual differences that a customer may not like.
