Eventually your head will make contact with a hard surface and, when that happens, you'll want to be wearing the utterly reliable, highly durable RED Trace Helmet. A double-injected ABS shell shrugs off hard hits so your brain stays intact, and the inside of this helmet has a smooth liner that's so comfortable you won't blink twice at the proposition of wearing the Trace all day.

  • ABS shell offers maximum protection against impacts, big or small
  • Top vents keep the top of your head cool by allowing hot air to escape
  • Ear pads cover up your ears on cold days, and you can remove the pads if you prefer to rock a beanie underneath instead
  • REDphone audio compatibility gives you the option to slide RED modular driver speakers (sold separately) into the ear pad area so you can listen to music without fumbling with third-party ear buds or headphones
  • Removable goggle clip holds your goggle strap in place at the back of your helmet

Holding up great

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have had this helmet for several years now and it is holding up great. It fits nicely and leaves room to wear a beanie underneath. The ear pieces are removable so you can play around with it and see what works for you. My brother and sister also have this helmet and we all love it.

wear a hat underneath for sure

I have this helmet and I went skiing it was really hot out so I took off my hat. but don't it pulls on your hair and kills trust me. but light weight nice fit. you can take out the ear parts out and use it as a normal helmet and can put headsets in the ear pads. it protects your head great!!! I did a front flip and hit my head by I was never inured.

nice helmet

this helmet fits well and provides great protection. The other day I went of a kicker and landed backseat and hit my head pretty damn hard, and although it hurt if i had worn my old smith helmet i would have easily gotten a concussion(it was very loose and thin layers of foam for protection. I enjoy the red phone capability, but it is hard to turn on and off for talking to friends when skiing, so i usually use any spare old headphones with a mic to answer calls. i reccomend having a volume and pause button on the headphones. overall the helmet was a great well fit choice. i reccomend using the sizing charts on the site because they are most likely correct with the size.

    Good Shellmet

This helmet has a good fit; it is a deeper fit than the Smith helmets I tried. I wear this as a shellmet (over my beanie and goggles) I recommend this helmet for anyone who rocks the shellmet style because, it does not sit too high up on your head. Don't be too cool for a helmet, concussions are no good.

      ear peices

they fall out/remove too easily. the newer model may address this (bought mine for the 11/12 season). the iphone compatability is awesome for that day where you need to get on a conference call while on the lift/groomers. Note - the audio cord worked with my droid for the headphones only, not the mic. Good no frills helmet over all. the goggle flap is appreciated on cold days.

would this be big enough to hit a beanie...
