Description

Morphing mountain pants.

Face the frosty morning and beat the heat of the afternoon when you wear the RAB Traverse Zip-Off Softshell Pant on your next hiking adventure. The quick-drying fabric’s DWR coating keeps your legs dry when tramping through dewy brush in the first hours of daylight. Once the trail warms up, zip off the Traverse’s pant legs and pick up the pace with a nice breeze on your knees. A diamond crotch gusset provides the stretch you need to scramble up to the steep summit.

Unfortunately can't endorse ...

... these pants. The fit and comfort were alright but quality was not good. After six months of very light use belt loop began to come loose, fly fastener ripped loose, and seams began to come apart. Too bad.

Not impressed

I first tried them on and they seemed to fit like old women pants. They were way to high in the waist to try and get the seat to be where it should be. The sizing of this garment was smaller than the "Rab Softshell pants" (those I love). I returned this item promptly as it would be uncomfortable standard use.

Not impressed!

Unanswered Question

Do the zip off softshell pant have a zipper...

Do the zip off softshell pant have a zipper or release at the bottom of the pants so I don't have to take off my boots when converting to shorts? I'd also like to know the dimensions of the rise and fit. I usually take a 4 pant. Are these a slim cut or baggy?

athletic fit as pants, too tight as shorts.

great fit, well tailored cut thats not super baggy. they have a good athletic fit and are a good compromise if you dont want to shell out $$ for the gamma LT. only problem i had with them was when you zip off the bottoms to make em shorts, they look a little too tight around the thigh. and they could use an extra pocket. preferred the north face paramount convertibles as shorts.

so ultimately, great look as pants, not so great as shorts. i'm 5'8", 152 lbs, 31 waist and the medium fit perfectly.
