Soar over the backcountry snow with the extremely lightweight Rab Men's Stretch Neo Pant on. Weighing a modest one pound, this pant utilizes a waterproof, three-layer Polartec Neoshell membrane to keep you dry from powder flying across your lower body, and it remains highly breathable and stretchy so you can hit the skintrack with unrestricted mobility and the utmost comfort. Rab also added a DWR coating to help light flurries bead up on the shell for additional protection against wet weather. Cordura covers the inner legs for durability against your ski edges and rocky terrain.

A regular fit leaves room in the Stretch Neo for you to layer up in frigid temperatures, and articulated knees give your legs the freedom of movement they need step after step. Side zippers run three-quarters of the way up your legs for easy on and off, and three pullers help you ventilate when you work up a sweat hiking up a mountain. Attachment points connect to your jacket for complete coverage in unexpected storms. Rab lined the waistband with tricot to slide over your layers smoothly.

great movement at a cost of durability

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

These are terrific shell pants in GoreTex with some spring in the fabric. I've really liked the for ice climbing and bc skiing. They fit and move well, do not require gators, could come with suspenders, which they take, or a belt, but generally did very well. I sporked the hell out of them one of the first times out, and on a seam, and patching has been ongoing but effective. The pockets are a really nice feature, especially if in bounds or euro style. the fabric is delicate, and in addition to said sporkage, I had wear from where TLT5 buckles abraded. Overall I'd buy their pants again. True to size, but I used to size xl in arcteryx for fit over softshell. L works over long johns, xl would be better over 2 layers.

good mixture of W/P, breathability

Used this on a 12 hour summit attempt at 6200m, and wore this over a Rab Meco 120 base layer and REI ACME softshell pants to keep warm and dry. I also had on a pair of Salewa Raven Combi boots w/semi-auto crampons, and the cuffs layered over quite nicely.
