    Warm, light, simple

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Large

Incredibly light, very warm and works great as an outerlayer, very wind resistant. I haven't taken this thing off since I got it. My only complaint is the short hem (meant to avoid climbing harness) which can leave your waist slightly exposed. The large fits my skinny frame perfectly and still allows for a midlayer.

I've worn this with a fleece midlayer on Mt. Washington in January (10 deg F, 50 mph winds) and was comfortable while idle on the summit for 20 minutes. Around town with a button down can handle about 25 deg F. Great hood with drawcord and moldable wire in the brim but I haven't tried it with a helmet. Packs down to nothing.

    Love it.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

My wife bought me this jacket. I like its red color. It's very light, and keeps me warm in the cold days. This jacket is really true to size, fit me perfectly. It is also very stylish. I don't have any problem with the feather falling out of the jacket.
Backcountry.com customer service reps are excellent. I strongly recommend this website.

Zipper is on wrong side. Otherwise great

Would have given it 5 stars, it's light, packs down small, very warm, hood with flexible wire in visor. Great range of movement without it riding up or the sleeves becoming too short. Only negative is the zipper is on the wrong side, it's backwards. Almost like it's made for a lefty. Bought it over the summer on sale and figured it would be fine. Definitely takes some getting used to. Maybe it's normal from the part of the world where it's made but it's like driving a right hand drive car in the USA. Once you get it started, it's fine but it's just strange and kind of inconvenient.

Don't be discouraged. Norrona has left handed zippers too on the men's jackets. Both are quality, well made garments. I'll sacrifice a funky zipper for an all round bad ass jacket any day and when its zipped up no one is going to know anyway!
