    Stay warm forever.

Belay duty's never exactly fun, and it's even less exciting when you're sitting there in a blizzard for three hours while your partner searches his way up the first pitch of a rime-coated cliff. Luckily, the Rab Infinity Endurance Women's Down Jacket will protect you from the cold and snow, even during the most unpleasant belays you've ever experienced. Decked out with super-light and water-resistant Pertex Quantum GL and Pertex Endurance fabrics, the Infinity will resist moisture, but it's also been absolutely loaded up with 850-fill hydrophobic down, so you'll stay warm even if your jacket does get a little big soggy. Since the down's so lofty and the fabric's so light, the Infinity weighs just over one pound, so you'll hardly notice it's there when you're wearing it, let alone when you've packed it into its stuff sack and hidden it away in your pack.

Lightness doesn't mean the Infinity is bare bones, though. It has all the technical features you'd expect in a big-time alpine expedition jacket, like an adjustable and helmet-compatible hood with a wire brim, an miniature baffle behind the front zipper, and elasticated cuffs and a hem drawcord to keep snow and drafts from sneaking into your downy comfort zone. Four zippered pockets give you enough room to store essentials like snacks, lip balm, and gloves, and the regular fit's roomy enough to allow for layers without drowning you in extra fabric. When you need seriously light warmth in rugged alpine conditions, the Infinity's a tough jacket to beat.

    Awesome Except for Leaky Down?

I have owned this jacket for a year, and it has kept me warm and dry while backpacking in sub-zero temperatures. It packs down to about the size of a Nalgene bottle and is very lightweight compared to other jackets on the market that aim to provide a similar level of warmth. This ranks the jacket as one of the most efficient when it comes to weight-to-warmth ratio. The Pertex Endurance coating also sheds snow, ice, and light rain well, although, while stuck between me and my backpack, the back of the jacket did get wet during strenuous trekking. The jacket comes with a hood, which at first I was hesitant about, but it really did come in handy while hanging out at night and while sleeping (I found it too warm, however, to hike in-- it's like wearing a sleeping bag on your head). The wire in the hood's brim does give the jacket added weight, but it gets the job done, especially when it's snowing heavily. I also found I can use the wire in the brim to wrap the hood securely at the back of my neck while I'm not wearing it, since the hood is not designed to roll up or detach. Finally, the jacket is slim-fitting (for a puffy), has easy-to-access oversized pockets, and has a long back length, which keeps me covered and warm. HOWEVER, the stitching along the seams of this jacket are the worst I've ever seen, and all that expensive and warm high-tech down is forever finding its way out. When I sent back to RAB USA, thinking it might be defective, they returned it to me with a message that the leaks along the seams were "normal." I cannot understand how this would be accepted as "normal" on a piece of equipment that is supposed to be so high-tech. The amount of feathers seeping through the seams of this jacket is alarming; I have never seen anything like it. It is why I refuse to rate this jacket anything over three stars; at a cost of over $400, it should not be losing its insulation so easily!

Warmest you'll ever be on a snowy 14er

I couldn't be happier with this jacket. It has kept me warm no matter what I'm doing. From standing watching a parade in 20 degree Temps, to taking a snack break atop a snow covered mountain with negative degree wind chill I am warm and comfortable. Don't be scared off by the price, it is so worth it!

    Like a stylish sleeping bag!

This jacket is the warmest jacket in the world! From those frigid mornings on the mountain to the cloudy cold days climbing, this jacket is key! It is lightweight, feminine, water resistant (water just rolls right off the material), and most important it is warm! I am 5'2 and 130 lbs, I went with the medium. It provides enough room to layer under but still fits in the arm length and the hips. The draw cord at the hem helps cinch it down to avoid the snow and wind and literally feels like you are in a sleeping bag! The hood is big enough to fit my ski helmet and can be adjusted in the back to fit the circumference of your head as well as around your face to prevent the hood from falling down in those windy conditions. The wire brim is ideal in shaping the hood to your specific helmet shape. I get compliments on this jacket on the hill and off. Overall, this jacket is the bomb and I can't imagine a winter without it!

Best down jacket I have owned!

I bought this jacket couple summers ago as it was on sale and looked pretty cool online. Little did I know, this would turn out to be the best winter gear decision I have ever made! Here's my two cents:

    1. Extremely warm - I used to suffer from complete numbness in my fingers while skiing. I didn't have numbness a single time after owning this jacket!)
    2. Very easy to layer - Its super puffy, but fits surprisingly well under ski shells)
    3. Perfect lenght - I am 5.2 and no one makes ski gear for petite women. Rab nailed it! I am very happy with the length of this coat.
    4. Lightweight - The down makes this jacket very lightweight and compressible
    5. Comfortable - Its like wearing a cloud!
    6. Stylish - I have this jacket in a shiny black. It looks super gorgeous!

    1. Wish I could roll down the hood of this jacket but there is no zipper or strap for it.

Buy this jacket! You will not be disappointed!!

    Warm, feminine, awesome!

This is a great jacket by rab - I've been on a quest to find an alpine puffy for frigid belays in the Cascades that looks vaguely feminine, and this fits the bill. I'm 5'8" 135lbs, and the small fits well over my shell. Also rare for my size, the sleeves and torso is long enough. Love the wire in the hood to stay put over helmets without feeling pinched down. Soft cloth near the neck and hands - great touches. One thing I wish it had is the ability to unzip from the bottom to free up my harness. Overall great product though - kept me warm ice climbing in 7 degrees in Cody, Wyoming, and cozy in camp in the Cascades!
