Stash the Rab Men’s Baltoro Softshell Jacket in your pack when you head out for a post-work run in the foothills. This lightweight, super breathable softshell pulls double duty as a just-in-case layer Spring through Fall, and as a casual, around-town jacket any time of the year. Polartec Power Shield fends off Mother Nature’s nasty side and breathes as your pulse climbs to ensure optimal temperatures from trailhead to summit and back.

Bottom Line: Take shelter with you.

Yeah your info helped. I'm gonna give BC a ring to get the true specs.

This is the Baltoro Alpine. I just received it in the mail and the tag states "Baltoro Alpine". Very nice jacket though.

All the weights I've seen for the Baltoro Alpine are much heavier - closer to 20+ ounces. Also they are made of Powershield not Powershield Lite. So are the weight and fabric type correct also?

A picture is worth 1000 words. It definitely has a hood. Rab makes nice gear, and their hoods fit and function well.

There are actually 3 types of Baltoro jackets-

Baltoro Alpine w/hood
Baltoro Guide w/hood
Baltoro Lite w/o hood

From the photo and write-up ("Polartech Powershield"), this is the Baltoro Alpine, but from the material specs ("Powershield Lite"), it's the Baltoro Lite. The Alpine weighs in @ about 24oz, and the Lite (no hood) weighs in @ 18oz. Also, with the original prices, we go right back to the Alpine, priced @ about $200. You've now got the correct weights, and the material specs for the various models, but I would strongly urge you to call BC to clarify exactly what they're selling on this one. One side of the page clearly doesn't jive with the other. This is messing with both of our heads, but I hope that at least helped you out a bit.
