Rab's Ascent 500 Sleeping Bag is a versatile sleeping bag that keeps us comfortable as the temperatures approach freezing. A beginner-friendly down bag, the Ascent 500's wider mummy cut is not as restrictive as many mummies, and it features a few extras to protect our investment in a down bag. The Pertex Quantum shell is coated with a durable water repellent to protect the down from moisture while the 650-fill duck down also features a hydrophobic finish to prevent sweat or water from compromising the down's loft and ability to trap warm air. These features let us enjoy the light and lofty warmth of down without having to worry as much about moisture ruining our bag—and our camping trip.
