So far, so good are my thoughts on this jacket. I bought this to have something heavier and durable (with a hood) to wear snowboarding. I've only worn it to the hill one day but it performed superbly. I was warm, protected and I love the pockets on this jacket. Despite falling down all day (I'm a beginner snowboarder) I was warm and dry underneath this jacket. Another good thing to note is I wasn't cold on the ride home. Usually I tend to sweat a lot while snowboarding which results in being cold in the car on the drive home. This time I was nice and toasty the whole way.
I've also worn it hiking- I do fieldwork for a living and I've worn this a few times. It was maybe 20 degrees out the day I first wore it hiking. I layered pretty heavily underneath it (a habitat of mine because you just never know how cold or warm you'll get), wearing a long sleeve thermal baselayer, a breathable t-shirt and a wool sweater. I could have fit a thin fleece on too if I wanted more layers. The jacket kept me very warm and a few miles into the hike when I was starting to sweat I used the pit zips. Excellent. Definitely a great jacket for both the hill and other outdoor activities.
A side note too is that it's very flattering. Even when I feel (or look) like the abominable snowman outside with all my layers or snowboard gear, this jacket still looks great while keeping a girl warm. I'm about 5'7 with broad shoulders and I bought a large. It's a little bit but I'd rather have more room than feel claustrophobic in my jacket.

I wear these five days a week in the field and they are so comfortable that I never notice them. I used to wear cotton underwear which was such a bad idea- so uncomfortable after 10 hours of hiking. I will be buying more pairs of these eventually but I usually wash them in the sink and hang to dry for the next day. They worked well when traveling too so I didn't have to pack lots of underwear- just wash with a little bit of soap in the hotel sink and hang to dry for the next day!

I love these pants- I spend long hours in the field and not only are they comfortable to hike in but they work well under waders as well. When I'm in my waders I tend to sweat a lot but these pants dry quickly and I never feel like I am wearing extra underneath. They claim to repel dirt but mine definitely have some dirt stains (due to heavy use). They also look nice in the office and around town so I can look professional in my field clothes. The pockets are very handy as well.
I own the black and the khaki- the black stays cleaner due to color but sometimes they get hot when hiking as the color soaks up heat. I wouldn't wear them in super brushy conditions however, since the fabric isn't as tough as other pants (I'm usually a Carhartts girl since those stand up to most anything)- we'll see how they hold up after a long season of less than optimal trail conditions. I also own both the zip-off style and the regular style but I don't zip the pants legs off. The shorts hit me just below the knee which is pretty unflattering.
I found them to be long so despite having long legs I ordered the short (but in my normal size). They also fit well on women with big calves- I still have plenty of leg room unlike many other women's pants.
