Fit: True to size

Getting ready for a trip to the Patagonia region of Argentina... I've worn these a couple times and really like the comfort - I also like that the shorts are longer then my North Face convertible pants which I had previously used to trek Torres del Paine. This trip we are visiting Tierra del Fuego and have decided to use these pants instead for this trip.

I bought this for a planned hiking trip in New Zealand (Milford Trek) which spans 33 miles over 5 days. I have only tried this on, but I plan to use these with a pair of North Face Dhaulagiri II GTX boots! These felt amazingly comfortable and look neat. I hadn't seen Salomon shoes until I traveled up to Montreal and a neighbor near me had a pair on. I immediately went to a store to check them out and found them to look cool and feel great! This particular pair is waterproof (Gore-Tex) and will work well for those hikes which are not too bad. Waiting on my pair as an x-mas gift!

I bought this for a planned hiking trip in New Zealand (Milford Trek) which spans 33 miles over 5 days. I have only tried this on, but I plan to use these with U.A. Catalyst & North Face Reaxion and Flex Crew shirts and also TNF Venture rain jacket. These are quite thin; kind of like a pair of "silk" shirt I have for skiing. Probably more to keep sweet and water from soaking in, not sure how warm these will be.

I bought this for a planned hiking trip in New Zealand (Milford Trek) which spans 33 miles over 5 days. Leaving in just over 2 weeks, so I have packed this thing to the brim and although there isn?t a lot of extra space, I have jam packed in all I hope I?ll need for the trip. I choose a smaller backpack, because on the longest day of our hike, we?ll be traversing 14 miles and I?d prefer to keep it as light as possible. There isn?t room for a sleeping bag and what not (which for this organized trek we travel between hotels), but for me I squeezed in a backpack rain cover, 8 Smartwool PHD socks (4 boot and 4 low-profile) and 8 sock liners, NTS base layer lightweight top and bottoms, PHD HyFi full zip jacket, 5 non-cotton t-shirts (U.A. Catalyst, TNF Reaxion and Flex Crew), Outdoor Research Crocodile Gaiters, NEOS Trekker OverShoes, TNF Venture Jacket and Side-Zip pants, CamelBak 100 oz water reservoir & a spare pair of Salomon 3D Ultra 2 GTX low-profile shoes in the bottom of the bag ? plus all the other accessories (international adapters, LifeProof iPhone 5 cover, undies ? toilettes etc). I was able to squeeze this stuff in by using these compression zip-lock bags I found buried in my closet. Squeeze all the air out and things pack better then you?d expect!

I bought this for a planned hiking trip in New Zealand (Milford Trek) which spans 33 miles over 5 days. I used this during a downpour while watching the Cincinnati WEBN fireworks over Labor Day weekend 2012. I had the pants and also the North Face Venture jacket ? I was completely comfortable and dry. I am looking forward to combining these with my Outdoor Research Crocodile Gaiters & NEOS Trekker OverShoes to keep me from getting soaked through the river and rain of New Zealand! Because of the side zip, I can put these on over my TNF Paramount Convertible Pants without making a mess (I'm a clean freak) and so far I have not experienced any issues with the zipper and water seeping through.

I hiked 18 miles (in Chicago) as a trial for a planned hiking trip in New Zealand (Milford Trek) which spans 33 miles over 5 days. I felt very comfortable with these socks; you will want a sock liner to use with these type of wool socks, planning to use these with North Face Dhaulagiri II GTX boots which I simply love and wish they were still on the market! I will use the shorter cosins of these type of smartwool socks with Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX shoes. I was worried about cushion and bought both medium and light, I now wish I had stuck with light because the medium are nice and warm!

I hiked the ?W? trail in Torres Del Paine, the last thing you want is for your feet to get wet ? gaiters won?t cut it, OverShoes will!

I hiked 18 miles (in Chicago) as a trial for a planned hiking trip in New Zealand (Milford Trek) which spans 33 miles over 5 days. I felt very comfortable with this top; it is not wind tight, but does hold the heat in. I was not exposed to any wet weather but found it nice and cozy while moving.
