Great travel pack
5 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Just small enough to not cause problems on a plane and just big enough to fit a full rack and rope plus food and jacket for a multi pitch climb. One of two pack i use and it is perfect. The fabric is surprisingly water proof, super burly too. Convenient organization, comfortable straps and it's light for being such a beefy pack. A true mountain pack that won't let you down when you pack it full of gear and hike it cross country over granite slabs and through dense brush to free a beautiful line up an unknown peak. All the while being at home in a tea shop in darjeeling waiting for the weather to break. Perfect size pack for everything you need and few extras that you'd like to have.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great light rope with all the capabilities i want, trad climbing harder sport, multi pitch and since i live in a wet climate, doesn't mold. It has a great catch, butter through a belay, fits a grip-gri 2 perfectly, is light for the long 120ft sport climbing i love up here on the redwood coast and surprisingly tough when taken care of properly. The mid marker fads rather quickly but that is by no means a deal breaker. If i "needed" a mid marker in high risk situations i would get doudess, but i'll save the money and mark it myself. My partner and i put some mileage on it this season and i am super please with mammut.

I've owned these for a few years now and have definitely put them through the wringer. From mountaineering in the rockies, from Colorado to Jasper and up to Alaska. Kayaking in the pacific northwest, trekking through berry brambles, multi pitch trad climbing in yosemite and on cross country hiking through the trinity alp these are as good as new and still the burliest pair of pants i own. I have patagonia simple guides (amazing pant as well), but these are warmer and stretchier. Now for the other side, they are more like tights than pants... or somewhere in-between- a formfitting pant. Keeps me warm and more mobile than i am. Great expedition pant in temperate temps and rugged terrain. They don't smell to bad after two weeks in the bush; at least i don't think so...

This shoe is futuristic in just about everything. It moves very ergonomically with your foot, and the insole is better than any shoe I've had (I usually get aftermarket insoles, but not a great need in these). Light-weight, good grip and durable. I use it as my backpacking/approach shoe and am happy so far. I love the quick lace and tongue. Super happy with Solomon for making a great shoe.
