Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit: True to size
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 175 lbs
Size Purchased: 34/short

I wore this just this past weekend up at Kearsarge Pass. The week before, the Sierras had their first big winter storm for 2015. Daytime temps around 50s and evening dropped down to 23 deg F. Throughout the whole trip, it kept me warm. At night, I slipped on a med weight Smart Wool base layer, and together, it kept out the cold. The fabric is stretchable and water resistant. I slushed through snow the whole day and it just repelled it. Going to get another pair as backup. Best pair of hiking pants I've owned. Be forewarned, I only wore this once, so in terms of durability, I couldn't comment. In terms of fit, I wear a 34 waist, 30 length. The fit was tighter than I wanted, but the fit was still ok; once I was out in the backcountry, it fit like a glove. I'm ordering a back-up pair.

I had the chance to try this jacket out this past weekend, went camping at Mt Pinos, weather dipped down to the low 40s at night, had the jacket and only had a tshirt underneath. Kept me warm and toasty throughout. It's very lightweight, too light in fact, that I thought it may be too delicate. But initial impression was that it held up. Down does leak out the shell though; it's my first down jacket so I don't know if this occurs to all super light weight down jackets. Jacket is compressible and packable using one of its hand pocket. Because the zipper is not reversible, once packed, you are looking at the back side of the zipper. The waist is an elastic hem, and not a drawstring. I normally wear a size MD, but had to upsize to a LG. The MD was tight around the chest area, once I got the LG, it was perfect. Overall, it fits great, very light, toasty, and a good looking jacket. The blue color tends to look purplish than a deep blue. Looks and feels delicate though, so I am careful when I wear this jacket. Giving it 4 out of 5 stars because of no drawstring around the waist, and in packed form, the zipper is not reversible. Hope this review helps. PS Backcountry rocks!
