Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size

I think with all shoe reviews, one needs to be clear that the same shoe will fit different people in different ways, and what works great for one person may not work for another.
I have been an avid fan of the predecessors of these shoes. Unfortunately, Salomon, like so many manufacturers, chose to tinker with a well functioning product.
This new shoe lack a lot of padding (to save weight perhaps), and the consequence to me, is that the upper part of the shoe has rubbed my foot raw (through my socks), and I can no longer wear these shoes.
I have also come to dislike the lacing system which prohibits one from fine-tuning the fit, the way you can with laces.
I did not find the shoe to be all that narrow (and I need a wide toe box), but the lack of padding on critical areas has rendered this shoe unusable for me. I would not recommend this shoe (which I see on Salomon's web site has apparently been discontinued).

Is it true that this watch will only display, in the altitude mode, only four digits? So that if I am over 10,000 feet in elevation the watch will only display the first four digits and the last (or fifth) digit will be off to the side, kind of really small? e.g., if I am at 13,290 feet, the watch will only show 1329 and the last zero will be off to the side?

The plastic lid on my pot does not fit well. Packing up the pot and lid in the morning when I break camp has become a real struggle in terms of getting the lid back on. And the fit is tight enough that when I boil water, I end up having to place the lid on my pot upside down. Is this normal? Is anyone else having this problem?
