Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

If you're looking for lightweight, no frills three-layer pant, this is the pant you want. Bought for hiking, light mountaineering, backcountry skiing. 1 pound. No goofy gaiters, no suspendies. 3/4 length zippers that you can't bust. No frills also means no pockets, though, so you have to be man enough to stash your iPhone elsewhere. Medium fit is perfect for me at 135 and 5'9". Did I mention its light? Compared with its little brother the rab bergen; the extra 4 ounces were worth it for me in the latok, along with a fly, instep protection, and beefier construction.

Looks pretty good; I'm a traditionalist, gear-wise, so I'm skeptical of all the welded seams. The tricot lining around the neck and chin area is pretty champion.

Had to return because of small size. My wife is an xsmall wife, but this jacket was xsmaller. Tight in the shoulders, but no armpit issues as others have described.
