I have written a review earlier after using my first set of these boots for a while - things were good then! Since then I have had one of the laces start to fray from the clips - called mfg and they sent me a new pair. After a while I started to notice a little dampness in one of the boots (a lot of wet areas this year in Florida) - I tested them in a bucket of water and discovered a leak - ugh, premium boots leaking, double ugh! Backcountry replaced them for me as this surely was a quality problem - they are a great place to do business with! As far as the new pair of boots, the area is pretty dry now, so I'm waiting for wet season again (should use the bucket, but I’m going to wait) to hopefully have dry feet and will get what I paid for. Do I recommend these boots - not when "quality control" means "disaster control"!

Vasque Breeze GTX Hiking Boot

I've used my boots quite a bit in a very wet Florida this year - at times I've stepped in muck which has actually gone over the boots - yuck! The boots have so far passed all the tests. I've had to give them a major washing after many wet hikes (takes a while to dry them out when that wet). These are my first waterproof Gore-Tex boots. The feeling is a little funny when you walk into water, your feet feel wet, but it turns out that they are not, just surround by water and the Gore-Tex is I guess "breathing". I've got quite a few miles on them and as I've said, they passed all my tests! I ordered width EE, they seem a little tighter than my other EE boots, but livable.
