Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I returned this jacket because it was clearly way to warm for even the coldest days in the Midwest. This jacket is for extreme temperatures, mountain climbing comes to mind. Although I absolutely LOVED the wrist area of this jacket. The cuff has elastic inside the shell which is awesome and makes the jacket fit really well.

If I ever need a super warm jacket this would be it.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I live in the Midwest and needed a quality jacket that keep rain and cold out without getting warm. This jacket is perfect! I also have the Thermal Plasma jacket which has seen better days. In comparison the Kapwall has slightly less bulk and the jacket is not as warm. However, the Kapwall is a great everyday jacket for guys looking for something to keep you warm in cool weather. I would say down to 10 degrees or so. If you are going to be outside for long periods and are stationary this might not be warm enough. However, if you are walking, climbing, snowboarding, etc. this should be the perfect weight jacket to keep you warm without getting hot.

Overall I love the jacket and it definitely works for what I need - a jacket to keep me warm when outside, waiting for the car to warm up, etc.

The powder skirt is not removable. Wish it was since I don't plan on snowboarding any time soon.

Highly recommend the jacket for casual use in weather from maybe 10 - 50 degrees. Anything warmer and this jacket might be too much.
