Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
These budget 27.5+ tires are all marketing. These are the same width as conti Trail King 2.4, (both measure 2.50") and slightly less tall (0.25" less from axle).
I bought them to run 27.5+ tires on a 29er frame, and after the beastly task of mounting them, was saddened at the small dimensions. The TCS tough are thick beasts of a downhill tire, but are incredibly difficult to mount. I didn't use soapy water, but struggled 30 minutes per tire to mount (I am 250 and work construction).
In short, I wouldn't recommend for a conversion. If big, confidence inspiring tires for mixed dryish terrain are what you are after, get a conti Trail King 2.4 for the front (German ones, not Chinese), and a Kenda Nevegal 2.35 for the rear. Conti's are a little unstable under hard cornering in the rear, and nevegals, while awesome tires, wear fast, and are more prone to sidewall tears if you ride a lot of rock.
