I used these for my hammock suspension and quickly realized that I made a mistake. They'll work for the buckle systems but only when properly placed. They're big, bulky, and way heavier than some biners. Simple fix... A small piece of chord. Use a prusix instead of these on hammocks. Lighter, easier, & faster. Leave the prusix on the webbing and use a biner to attach.

For climbing, they work for their purpose. Which is not belaying.

2 yrs later my rope is still holding up.... Unfortunatly the smooth action of this rope has deplinished remarkably. It feels like the core has twists in it... Idk maybe it's just me. The rope frays a bit but its also a tighter woven rope and seems to have more threads than the average rope. Still taking soft falls and the rope is holding up fine. My climbing partner has a blue water rope around the same age and it feeds and handles like a dream... But the UIAA falls between the two are pretty extreme. I'll give edelweiss one more chance, if the same issue occurs with my next rope, I'll be sure to post. Some good notes though, I was climbing in the rain the other day and the rope didn't draw a single drop of water, the rest of my gear was soaked but the rope was damn near completely dry. All in all it's still a great rope but I'm a bit disappointed in the handling, ESPECIALLY In a GriGri. I'm gonna give it a good wash and see if it helps. I'd still recommend this rope.

If you're planning on climbing every once in a while this is an awesome deal, but if you're serious about getting into the hobby and you want the best you can get, then this is probably not the package for you. I like the harness, the chalk Bag is small and the belay devices isn't very functional but all around a good package and I'm glad I got it. Now that I'm more into climbing my friends can use this and I use the harness that I ultimately wanted to start off with. But I would still climb with it it's not like it's a bad harness its just not as comfortable as some of the more expensive ones. Weekend adventurer this ones for you.

I bought this rope last year and have climbed & rappelled on it probably around a 100 times thus far. I've used gri gri's, tube belays, figure eights and have ascended it a few times for shits and giggles. Its held up quiet well to rope drag and fast rappels. The rope doesn't have a half way mark but mine is bi-pattern so a center marker is usless. I have led a few routes on it and it worked out fine. According to the stats as far as elongation and amount of falls held this is a really well rounded rope. I can truely say I'm more than happy with this rope and will most likely stick with this company due to their product. The only thing is the sheath seems tightly woven with smaller fibers wich seems to provide less friction than other ropes. Its really not even noticable though, great rope and I would recommend to all.
