Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

After talking to BA several times I have learned that the only air seal on these pads is the adhesive that bonds the insulation to the shell... in my experience with 4 of these pads, they will eventually fail.
If you rarely use your pad, maybe a good cheap option. Some have failed straight out of the wrap and others have taken several trips to fail.
Shipping for all my warranties has cost me enough to buy a nice pad at this point!

Looks and feels great, won't absorb water, not noticeable while hanging off pack, and kept me above water in class 3+ rapids... can't really ask for more.
The pocket is big enough for a emergency bivy and firestarter. it also fits tight enough that clipping stuff onto it doesn't cause any slumping, the grippy stuff is great for hold. Oh, and after bushwhacking through alder and devils club thickets it never ripped!
Im 6', 165 and a M fits snugly

The perfect flex! My board felt instantly more responsive charging but I could still butter and press with ease. The heel cushioning is great for spins in the park that leave you landing a bit too hard on edge. The real test - Tailgate AK where these boots kept my feet warm and dry thru many days of backcountry riding and ice cave camping. In terms of style, they turn heads and make skiers want to quit as you slacken the quick laces and chill at the bar. The BEST boots I have ridden!
