Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These boots are beyond what I hoped for! Walk mode has a huge range of motion. Ski mode is solid even for the very aggressive skier. I do everything in these boots: Teach ski lessons, skin with a dynafit binding or a baron and shred the hard resort chunder. They work for any kind of skiing one wants to do. Jumps, cliffs, on the ground. Walk mode even works to drive a car or walk to the bar. What a product!

Love it. I have not had to use it in a real burial. In practice it is reliable and easy. These beacons are used everywhere. The newer-age ones have more features for multiple burial scenarios and provide a more direct path. This works fine for me. Unless you want to spend more money, I wouldn't get anything else.

Just like Mcclain from Silverton below, these snapped on me. Luckily, I was hiking uphill only a mile from the car and was able to limp back. I did not do anything unusual to these bindings. I would consider the other trusted options on the market before dropping money on these. It seems like Solomon is building a reputation for unsafe backcountry gear (boots, and now bindings). Thankfully, backcountry.com has their money-back return policy. I bought these bindings thinking that they were going to be bombproof for seasons to come. I guess not.

I used this jacket all winter and summer. It stops wind and snow. Coming into this spring, in rain storms it will get wet, but it will keep the heat even when exposed for multiple days. Real good as a wind breaker. Overall I can only say positive things. Fit is prime, good alone and plenty of room for layers. A little short, but not too short. I'm 6'2 and got a L. Wearing a down+fleece underneath you will be more than comfortable in any winter. If your value-oriented: BUY IT. I would like to buy more stoic stuff in the future.
