Familiarity: I've used it several times

Have had these for 2 winters now and I have not had any issues with the decking breaking like other reviews and if I did I would just return to backcountry.com. These shoes are light, have great traction in all snow conditions and the heel lift is nice for steep hikes. The only issue I've had is that my boot slides foward no matter how tight I buckle them. I wear a pair of size 12 sorels when using them and when my boot slides foward my toe then hits the decking with every step.

msr quality msr price. This is one of very few brands I will pay a little more for the name. I have the 6l bag with the spigot and have had no problems with leaking or anything. I have dropped it numerous times full of water on rocks, sticks, bare ground, whatever. Nothing fazes this bag.

I bought one for me and one for my girlfriend. Both sizes are light, durable and take up almost no space in a pack. we've used these on the bare earth and in a tent. I have seen no sign of wear though the material appears to be really thin. Comes with a good patch kit and stuff sack. They are super comfy and insulate really well. The coldest temp I've used this in is about 40 degrees with a 37 degree sleeping bag and I didn't get cold at all. Of course I was zipped together in my gfs bag so not sure how warm I would be by myself.

I bought the black in a large on sale for $193. At first look this jacket has a lot of steez. would probably return the jacket if I had paid $300 for it for a couple of reasons. The zipper seems cheap for a north face ski jacket. Hopefully it will hold up. The inside pocket is big but cheap and its an open pocket. This can be a problem if you wipe out you might lose whatever is in that pocket. They call it a goggle pocket but why do you need a pocket for something that goes on your head? The hidden pocket on the chest next to the zipper is the best pocket. The one on the sleeve is nice but I'm not sure what I would ever use it for. Other then the zipper and the pockets the jacket performs. I stay nice and dry in all snow conditions and it looks good.
