This jacket has become my go-to for any skiing adventures. When I purchased it I was unsure if it would provide enough warmth for the Montana mountains, but I have been pleasantly surprised. The jacket is super light-weight and very comfortable in a variety of weather conditions. The outer fabric has DryRide which really does keep water from getting the down wet. I was wearing the jacket when it started to rain on the slopes. Not expecting those conditions I was worried I would get wet and freeze for the rest of the day, but the water just beaded up on the jacket and rolled off. When I got down to the lodge at the end of the day I grabbed a towel, wiped the water off and I was good to go. The body is long enough so I don't have to worry about wind blowing up my back on the chairlift, and the fit doesn't make me look like a marshmallow. I'm 5'7", 125 lbs with an athletic frame and I purchased the Small.
My biggest complaints are: 1) size of extra interior pockets for phone and iPod (they fit, but the pockets are by no means generous); and 2) the hood. Although it does cinch down, when I tried to cinch it the hood actually gets pulled off my helmet. I think this is something that can be fixed by a tailor for not too much $$. As some other reviewers have said, it does shed some feathers, but certainly not enough to cause me great concern. I've never had a down jacket that hasn't lost feathers... it's just part of the game.
Overall, I'm in LOVE with this jacket!!
