Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size

This shell met my expectation in every way. I used it for my 7 day trekking in Peru and also used it for snowboarding when it was dumping. The jacket held up to its claim and I was completely dry even after a full day in heavy rain and winter snow.

The only thing I wish was different was the length of the jacket. I got a size S and it fits me well everywhere else except the jacket is too short. But then when I tried on a size M the arm length is too long. I ended up sticking to the size S but the short length has become an issue when I use it snowboarding because snow sometimes will get in through the bottom of my jacket.

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size

I've been doing quite a bit of strenuous hike to train for my Peru trip. Summer hiking in 80-90 degree heat with my cotton t-shirts were just pure uncomfortable. Cotton gets wet from sweat very quickly and would not dry until a couple of hours later. I saw the great reviews on the icebreaker t-shirt and decided to give it a try. I have tested it twice in 80+ degree heat on a 3 hour strenuous hike and did not get any wetness and stickiness whatsoever. I also prefer this neck line over the lower scoop and v-neck version since I've gotten a lot of sun spots on my chest due to years of sun damage.

I bought this pants mainly for hiking. I live in California and it's really warm during the summer day but cools down significantly at night. This pants not only kept me cool during the 80+ degree day, but also was warm enough for a 50 degree night hike. It's also very light and breathable, highly recommended!
