Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit: True to size

To preface: I have only had this jacket for a month, and it's use has only been in dry, marginally cold conditions (~30 degrees). However, I bought it because I purchased the MontBell Alpine Light Down Vest last year and absolutely loved it.

Not surprisingly, I love this jacket as well. It's incredibly warm, especially considering how light it is. The fleece lining around the neck is lovely, and does a great job of keeping the heat from leaving. This is aided by the elastic cuffs on the sleeve, as well as the drawstring that lines the bottom that you can adjust from within the low-profile pockets,

It compresses to an extremely small size, whether you choose to put it into the stuff sack that comes with it, or just stuff it into its own pocket.

I've 5'8", 170 pounds, athletic build, and a medium fits me perfectly (for both the Jacket and the Vest). That being said, both go exactly to my pant line, which I believe is ideal, however for people that want a vest to hang lower you should size up. Then again, if you're using this for warmth, it really shouldn't hang lower that your waist, as then the elastic "seal" will be broken when you walk.
