Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Seems well made, but was a bit tight on my head (I do have a larger than average noggin). I had some trouble getting the opening to line up well with goggles, but perhaps that was just because it was tight on me. It's a no frills balaclava and not the type where you could easily or comfortably wear it under your chin when you're getting warm. Easily fits under a helmet.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought this just in time for a weekend camping trip in early December in the pouring rain. Kept me 100% dry and warm with an Atom LT underneath. Pocket placement takes some time to get used to since they're higher up than normal (but great because you can still access them wearing a pack with a waist band). Hood adjustment is fantastic and the best I've seen from the jackets I've tried. It's a bit noisy, though, so don't plan on sneaking up on anyone in it. Can't wait to use it skiing this year.

Pretty much what you'd expect from a North Face fleece--very warm and soft, but for some reason the one I received was HUGE. I normally wear an XL in just about everything (Marmot XL is slightly loose, Arc'Teryx XL is trim) but this XL felt like a XXL. I could layer this fleece over another heavy fleece and still have room for more. Will try a Large but hope the sleeves will still be long enough.

Nice, warm fleece that fits well and looks good. Unlike the reviews below, I have not had the issues with the collar folding in or any problems with the zipper. Torso is a bit longer than I was expecting so it extends past some jackets (like an inch or two past my TNF Apex Bionic). Nothing fancy, but it serves its purpose.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is a great ski rack. While it was somewhat of a pain to install (trying to make sure it's properly positioned and even) once it's in it's great. Holds skis in place very securely and feels really solid. Also, there's very little wind noise from the rack when you're driving around town without skis in place.

As an aside, I've found that since I only use my crossbars for the ski rack, it's actually easier to just remove the crossbars with the rack in place than it is to remove the rack from the bars. Doing it this way means I can put the rack on and take it off in just a few minutes.

Typically wear an XL, but this jacket in XL was WAY too big--fit like a bag and very puffy. Sleeve length was fine, though, so stepping down to a L would not have been an option. Not a very flattering jacket, but I'm sure it'd do the job it's made for.

I wanted to love the jacket, but for some reason the bottom opening was very narrow. it was fine standing up, but sitting down made me nervous the zipper was going to break. I also noticed that the picture shows a two-way zip so you could open it from the bottom, but the jacket does not have one (I even called Marmot to verify this).

I've never had the issue with other jackets--all of the Arcteryx jackets I tried on (Alpha, Beta, Theta) and Marmot jackets that I own, and North Face that I've owned and tried on have all fit fine and have plenty of room at the bottom, so maybe I just got one that was cut wrong? Everything else was fine (size was an XL for my 6'2"/ 205lb frame).

From the limited time I had with it, it seemed very durable and well made.
