Was trying to decide between 178 and 184. 5'9" and about 175lbs. I ski many black, double black and triple black diamonds. ski a prophet 98 in 178 for my daily driver. looking for something more playful. Mostly ski east coast, one trip out west each year. ski approx 50 + days a year.

skis switch every so often and can never trust over hyped skis. Almost got fooled into buying a pair of atomic theory after they were "ski of the year" last year. total noodles.

I am trying to decide between these and Armada TST, Volkl mantra or Icelantic Nomad RKR. Currently ski prophet 90, pre rocker. Ski about 50 days a year in east and one trip to colorado or utah each year. I am 175lbs, 5' 8" and ski pretty aggressively. Loved my previous prophets as they charged like race skis but were a bit tough to get around in the trees. Skiing trees in the east gets pretty tight and i am looking for something a bit easier to turn in the trees without giving up too much stability at speed. Classic have my cake and eat it too... any suggestions would be helpful. Please don't suggest Blizzard bonafids.

I bought this boot after owning a pair of lange boots with a softer cuff. I wanted something that stiff and responsive and thats exactly what this boot is. These are by far the best boots i have ever bought and remind me of race boots i used to ski when i was a teenager. I live in the east and have skied 7 days on them so far and they feel pretty good. I haven't had them fit or ground or anything and the fit is snug without being painful. I have found that the liners fit better if you take your first run with the boots a bit loose and let your foot settle into the liner and then crank'um real tight they are awesome and fit much better. I've skied them in a lot of different conditions so far and the boots felt great in all of them, even a east coast powder day (6 inches) yesterday. I even skied a pair of prophet 100's in them yesterday and i was pumped how the lange's helped throw them around on a pretty choppy day.

I demo'd these skis yesterday and they rip. I live on the east coast and was fortunate enough to get a east coast powder day (6inches, lol) during which to demo them. I was blown away with these skis immediately. The metal matrix makes them ski a lot bigger than they are but doesn't damper its ability to get from edge to edge quickly. The skis floated pow on the side of the trail and in the trees without difficulty. They were snappy enough to make fast confidence inspiring turns in the trees. At the end of the afternoon the trails were all bumped up and these skis were stiff enough to charge through them without blinking. These skis seriously charged threw bumped up powder that would have thrown my old skis (salomon 1080's), ass over tea cup.
