This is the first set of trekking poles I've owned, and I really like them. The locking mechanism works well, and can easily be adjusted on the trail. I think I prefer the ones with no shock absorber, but I've never tried the ones with it.

Trekking poles in general are great. I can go faster up and down hills. My posture is more upright. Side hills are so much less sketchy. Spring hiking in Montana means you will run into snow, and these have been absolutely awesome to have this spring. I had to lend one pole to a buddy, because he kept sliding back down an icy section of the trail.

Highly recommended.

This is a nice sleeping pad. I really like how small it folds up. It is also a lot more comfortable than my old thermarest. I would recommend this pad if you backpack quite a bit. One thing I noticed was that it is more comfortable if you blow it all the way up, lie down, and then reach up and let a little bit of air out (just a little).

This is a cool idea, and the product functions just as it says. Quality is fine, and I didn't experience any problem. If you really want gourmet coffee while your backpacking then I totally recommend this. That being said my experience with it was that it was more of a burden than a luxury. Once you're finished using it you have to use some of your water supply to clean it out, and even then you might end up with some coffee grinds in your dinner. I am just going to stick with Folger's singles (kind of like a tea bag).
