Just picked up a pair of these for a 4 day climbing trip in the Daks of Upstate NY, where the approaches consisted of grade IV scrambles, steep muddy hills and a lot of wet leaves. I was rather hesitant when I first got these in the mail, but overall I was pleasantly surprised. They handle the trail pretty well and climb just as well. They could stand to be a little more stiff to support the foot better on the uphill portion with a 50 lb pack, and it would allow them to edge a little better. They appear to run a little bigger than the running shoes.
