Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 195 lbs
Size Purchased: Large

Can't put into words how warm this Jacket it. I'll try though; Standing outside with just this and a tank top underneath with Windchill at -24*F this January in NH. No issues with cold period. The Pertex Quantum fabric is fragile but thats to be expected at 10D. If you truly want a warm puffy, look no further.

super light weight so easy to find room in the pack. Great light weight shell for Winter Backpacking and early spring/late summer alpine hiking in New England. not really much at all in the way of venting and the leg cuff opening isnt very big (zips only to ankle). Would love if they made a full zip version but for now Ill keep my Precip Fullzip pants around for Emergency rain shells.

This is my go to around town when its raining. its light and cuts wind like a pro, but PreCip isnt COMPLETELY waterproof. If your hiking and expect it to drizzle your fine, but steady rain for more than a couple hours without reprieve and you'll get wet underneath. I have a better more heavy duty shell for hiking.

Expect too much out of a cheaper shell and you'll get disappointed obviously.

Comfy, good fit for layering, not the most waterproof pant but do just fine for a day on the slopes. If you are back-country skiing/boarding Id recommend something with a high WP rating but for the Price I cant think of anything better. Wish they made skier versions of these with the re-enforced inner ankle panels so my skis wouldn't chew them up. But thats not the gears fault.

The Grass color is AWESOME
