I tried theses along with some coolmax liners. These are thicker and seem sturdier but I fount that they were a little tougher on my feet. I ended up switching halfway through one of my days because they just weren't as comfy. For the price I had hoped for a bit more but they were not bad. I will use the coolmax liners for long heavy hiking, but keep these for the slightly less intense hikes.

So I went hiking in Hilo, Hawaii with this gear and it held up well. It was comfortable and had no leaking. I was caught in several heavy down pours but remained completely dry. It also had side vent pockets that allowed m to get some airflow when the rain died down a bit. I would definitely recommend it. It also did a good job of shielding me from the winds up on the volcano.

I bought these for a field workshop were I had long day hikes across lava flows and up cliffs. These were amazing! I wore them under some wool hiking socks and even after exhausting hikes I had no blisters. The last day, and one of the least demanding hikes, I tried to wear my socks without these liners (just to try it out) and I had to stop and put them back on because my feet started to blister. I would never go hiking without these. I have tried other liners in the past but these are the best I have tried and are far cheaper than some others.
