Frustrating and disappointing

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Originally I ordered a 1.25 inch NV 2.0 along with a 1.25 - 2.0 inch adapter. It turns out the adapter sold here on backcountry.com does not fit the NV 2.0 although there was no indication that it would not fit. Then I went kuat's web site and order a 1.25 to 2.0 inch adapter for a NV. It turns out the NV is not the same as the NV 2.0 and once again it does not fit, once again no indication that it will not work for a NV 2.0 and they don't even sell the NV anymore. Furthermore there is no 1.25 to 2.0 adapter for NV 2.0. All you can do is buy their $149 replacement pivot bracket. So I did, absorbing all the money I saved by buying the 1.25 NV 2.0 on sale. Ok.

Then I load the bikes on the NV 2.0 and notice that one of the clamps holding the bike clamp is broken. See photo. Hopefully KUAT will send me one proto.

It does seem nice, if I can work out all the kink before I go crazy.

Also the cable locks barely fit my bikes and the paint is easily scratch.

I bought the KUAT NV 2.0 1 1/4 on sale after noticing that a 1.25 to 2.0 adapter. Well the adaptor sold here only works with the sherpa not the NV 2.0. Then I went to kuat.com and ordered the NV 1.25 to 2.0 which still did not fit. It turns out that the NV 1.25 to 2.0 converter only works with the older NV not the NV 2.0. So now I have to buy a $149 replacement mount arm if I want it to work or send the whole thing back for refund. What a pain in the you know what.

After receiving and installing the mount arm. I noticed that the plastic clamps for the bike clamp are broken. Let's see if I can get a replacement from KUAT.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: Runs small
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 180 lbs
Size Purchased: 13

Generally I like the shoe, especially the stiff sole which is helpful for the off trail hiking I do.

However all the seams are single stitch and the seams have come undone on my shoes. If mammut put a little more effort into build quality I could give the shoe 4 or even 5 stars. As it is the shoes came apart too quickly for me to consider it a good value.

In the picture you can see two blown seams. The other shoe is similar.
