My first impression is one of fondness. For the money, it is a very stylish and functional jacket. It's very sleek looking, with a slim (athletic) fit. The material is very stretchy and comfortable to wear. It also appears to be quite well made, though I haven't really tested its limits yet. After a one hour torrential downpour I was bone dry underneath. The material reacts very strangely to moderate rain, however. The soft-shell dimples, giving it the appearance of a golf ball. This persists until the material is saturated (or, conversely, until it dries). That being said, no rain penetrates the inner membrane. It's more of a superficial idiosyncrasy. This is the first soft-shell waterproof I've owned, however, so perhaps it's the norm. I'm 6' and approximately 155-165 pounds and I purchased a medium. It fits very well, with good all around coverage but an athletic fit (like I mentioned previously). At $119.89, as it stands now, I would purchase this jacket again. Hopefully it holds up and continues to treat me well!

I recently returned a pair of these because they tore above the ankle. I decided to give them another shot and rather than returning my old pair for a refund, simply exchanged them for a new pair. Despite the consensus that these are an extremely durable gaiter, I've found them to be too delicate (especially the upper half). Unfortunately the new pair of gaiters ripped from nothing more then a stick shot. Also, the velcro on the toe piece loses its grip very quickly and soon becomes useless. I will be returning this product when I get back from my trip. I would recommend something a tad more hardy. I will say, however, that my feet never got wet (while they were intact) and that for light use these would be great gaiters.

These boots were extremely comfortable out of the box, but not nearly as sturdy as I was hoping for. I would think that rolling an ankle in these boots would be very easy. The black areas in the photos represents a synthetic material which improves flexibility. They are too flexible though, up, down and side to side. There is almost no resistance to a roll, and for me, that wasn't desirable. I returned these boots.
