Familiarity: I've used it several times

This bag is amazingly light and easy to carry, sling over the shoulder or wear like a backpack. The small little pocket on the one end is great for keys and other small things you want to keep track of. Couple small issues are I wish the side pockets, especially the mess one, had Velcro tabs or even zippers to keep things more secure. The compression straps are great, only issue is they are designed to go through the handles which can be a hassle when you unclip and re-clip them and you have to re-thread them back through the straps. However if this becomes frustrating you can just by-pass the handles to secure them. I have used this back a lot and really enjoy its light weight and compact ability. On a recent trip I stuffed in my larger luggage as a spare bag for dirty clothes and for bring back stuff I purchased.

Fit: True to size

I have used the Wasatch Backpack a few times now. The pockets are great for keeping things organized; keep flies in the front drop down fly pockets or keep boxes in the middle pockets, sunglasses or bug spray fit in the side pockets...plenty of pockets and attachment points. On the back the pack has 3 compartments, the large one is big enough for a jacket or to store a small net plus there is a expansion zipper to make this main compartment larger. The other two can hold lunch or other items. Great pack/vest for wading all day, especially if you are walking and working a long stretch of river.

Mini Groundhogs are great small stakes, strong and the best thing is you can get them in very hard ground...haven't bent one yet! Bonus..they are also easy to remove. They are not the best for sandy or really soft dirt, best to have the larger Groundhogs or similar and have both sizes.

This is a great lightweight pack. I have used on a lot of day hikes, traveling or stuffing with biking gear to get to the trail. The hip belt zip pockets are a great touch, easy access and are comfortable with smart phone or larger items. Mess back panel is also nice and great for holding a jacket for easy access without fully taking the pack off.

This bag is a great all round duffel for any sport or traveling. I have always liked the Marmot's Long Haulers and I have all the sizes. Some of the nice features are the side zipper pocket which has small pockets in side of that for storing little items..like your keys or phone. The other nice feature is the handle/backpack straps and how they are easily used. I would have given this a 5 however I dont like the new design on the strapes as much as the earlier version. Marmot move the lower connection points closer together so the strape tend to dig in to your side more so I dinged it a point. I have also used the TNF based camps as well and prefer the strapes on this bag vs having the straps separate.

This is by far the lightest pack I own. It is great for day trips and light overnight, in fact it is so light you could pack it for long outings(week) to one camp and having a day pack would be nice. All the material and quality are great...Osprey. The only things I can be critical about are I am not sure if I would have make the lid top pocket mesh, seems like it would be better off with the light nylon and keep out dust/dirt. The other is the side pockets are a little small, so hard to reach with the pack on. The reservior slot is open on top, might be an issue if you use it in winter but I dont plan too...I have other packs for that. Overall it is a great pack and the Osprey reservior system is awesome!

This is a great pack. The reActiv suspension/swing arm do exactly what they say...they move with you. Used it climbing in the Tetons...hiking up, scambling to base of climb, hiking down...it moved with me, carried the load great and didnt give me any sore areas on my hips. Doesnt have a bunch of stuff you dont need and the rope strape under the top pocket is a nice touch to hold a rope in place. I wasnt sure if I would like dealing with the roll top closer but I like it, especailly if you take the top pocket off.
