These gloves are thinner than what I'm used to wearing. I typically wear the Sentinels and coming from those, these feel like they have less bulk and of course no 3D0 padding. That being said, ventilation is the primary goal of these gloves. The palms have thin padding but nothing like the 3D0 pads. I'm keeping them as an extra set for now ... for the searing hot summer days.

The Dakine Sentinel are my go to pair of gloves for mt-biking.

PADDING / PROTECTION
They offer good protection while being lightweight. The D30 padding have saved me numerous times where I would have bruised with other gloves.

VENTILATION
The gloves are well ventilated. I can wear these gloves through the Summer months in TX. You'll want something warmer for cold Fall/Winter weather.

I'll keep wearing them as long as Dakine continues to make them.

I've tried a number of grips including the ODI Ruffian, FSA lock-ons etc. Somehow I keep on going back to the ODI Cross Trainers. I ended up ordering the cyan blue, which complements my Specialized S-Works. They are very comfy, yet not too cushy at all. It's a good balance of grip and comfort. The lock-on clams are solid. Do not over-tighten if you have a carbon handlebar. 2-hands up. Get 'em!
