Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I use this mainly for resort riding (don't get many chances to backcountry). It has plenty of space for extra layers, first aid kit, and tuning kit. It definitely balances the load well on your body, so even with a full water bladder, you hardly notice that it's even there.
In addition, I use this as a daily commuter backpack and it fits everything I need as well. I put a laptop, ipad and a folio along with accessories. The back panel opening IS a little narrow for all this junk, but it isn't that much of a big deal. It balances the weight of the load really well; it feels amazingly light for the amount of weight I put in it.
