Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have been wearing Montrail shoes for many years and have always had great experiences with them. Unfortunately with these shoes, the soles are just not living up to the demands the trails put on them. After just 3 medium hikes, the lugs on the bottom of the shoe are delaminating from the sole. They fit well on my feet and are keeping them dry. Too bad the soles just are not as tough as the rest of the shoe.

This glove is very solidly constructed. After multiple tough outings, it doesn't show any wear. My hands have stayed dry and warm during some strenuous hiking in snowy weather.

These are my go to gloves when there is a chill in the air. The gloves keep my hands dry and the cold wind off of them. They have held up to holding onto trekking poles for many miles. I don't think that they would do so well if you were pulling on rocks all that much. They are light and small enough to throw in the pack at the slightest forecast of cold weather. An all around great glove.

I have been wearing my Vasque boots for much of the summer and find them a great hiking shoe. Most of the terrain I am hiking is off trail and on rocky terrain. The boots held up well, provided good traction and kept my feet dry. When I received the shoes, I started to wear them right away with no problems. I have enjoyed these boots and look forward to many more miles in them.

Like all Arc Teryx products, this one is tough as nails. Reinforcement where needed but still light weight enough to take with you on hikes. The side zippers are great to vent off a little extra heat. If needed, there is room underneath for some extra layers for warmth.

Overall a great pair of pants to take when hiking in the wind or when weather is threatening.

This jacket is my go to jacket when the wind picks up or the weather is coming in. It is super tough and handles rough off trail hiking with no worries. It is expensive, but the amount of abuse and wear I have thrown at it would demolish lesser jackets.

I am 5'10" and 170 lbs and a medium is a great fit.
