mikemorsec2163517's Bio

Anything outdoors captures my attention: Cycling, running, rafting, hiking, camping, and now recently snowboarding have all sunk their hooks in deep. I've camped all over the US for 24 years. Vacation isn't a hotel pool - its a backpacking trip to a mountain meadow with good food, great friends, and a little bit of sunshine.

I'm 6'6'' 230lbs and have been out on these skis in the Midwest twice so far. They are responsive and just feel right given my larger size. I'm a rookie skier, but have only good things to say about these skis. It also doesn't hurt the cause when every time out, someone comments on how attractive these skis are. Everyone's a fan!

I initially got into Smartwool socks when I started trail running. I wanted to make sure I had good foot care and a solid wicking fabric on my feet for those long trail runs. Smartwool did the trick!
I now use these socks for both road and trail running as well as just everyday use. They are cool/warm dry and comfortable. I own about 6 pairs at this point and will continue to grab some when they pop up on sale! ;-)
The fit around the toes and ankle are very comfortable. I'll put these to extreme use this summer in a summer trail ultra and we'll see if I can stand by this review after that. My guess is "Yes, definitely".

It's stylish enough to wear on the day to day, but performs way better than your typical everyday jacket. I wore this thing on 6 different snowboarding trips this past winter and was THE PERFECT temperature everytime. The technology is legit. It's great at blocking wind and rain. This was my first Mountain Hardwear purchase, and If all their gear performa like this, I'll be buying more. I'm 6'6" and got the XL. Sleeves and torso are long enough and adjust to a great fit. Huge fan.

I made a rookie mistake, so it's not the bag's fault, but I left a wet board in the bag for 2 weeks and the moisture wreaked havoc on my board. Rusted all over...My mistake, but for any other novice, be advised about the moisture issue. Other than that, this bag is awesome. The boot pockets are outstanding. I wear size 12 and they fit perfectly in the bag with a little space left over. Dakine have solid gear!

I'm a rookie and this board is perfect for me. I'm on the bigger side (6'6'' 225lbs) and ride goofy. The 161cm feels perfect. Big fan. Hopefully we get more snow here I the Mid-West, because I need to get more runs this season on this bad boy!

Not much experience with boarding gear, but these fit and ride nice. I made a rookie mistake and caught the back pad/support on the bottom of the chair and busted the rear adjustment nut up through the pad. I'm getting the part swapped out by a local shop. These are pretty quick on and off and look pretty sweet with the board and boot combo.
Zero complaints.

I finally decked myself out with all the boarding gear rather than rent it. These boots were part of the Burton package I put together. They are easy on and off. They have a very comfortable sleeve inside and they keep my feet warm, but not hot. These boots turned out to be exactly what I was looking for.

I've only used this headlamp a handful of times at this point (3-5 times no more than an hour each time, same batteries) and kept the intensity and the lower level as that was plenty of light. I've not yet felt the pain of buying new expensive batteries, but I understand rechargeables are a great alternative. Simply put, no complaints. You get what you think you are getting; a bright, reliable, bright! headlamp.

UPDATE: I've used this headlamp two times and now it does not work. Returning it with hopes to get a replacement. Hopefully there is something wrong with this one specifically, and not a product wide issue.
Disappointed, but we'll see.

I had this tool for three rides. Accidently failed to zip my seat pouch all the way closed and it popped out somewhere along the trail. Great versatility, the tools you need and then some. I've got the multi-19 tool on the Christmas list.

If you need a tool, this is it. It's that simple.
