Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size
The old OR Vert glove was the best ice climbing glove ever. Super thin leather, super thin wicking liner, very breathable, no waterproof membrane. They fit slightly loose, but were extremely dextrous and comfy. When they got soaked, you could wring them out, put them in a chest pocket, and they'd be warm and almost dry in not too long. The only downside is durability so I try not to rap or belay with them.
This version of the Vert is nearly the same as the old, but every change they made is for the worse. The most frustrating is the wicking liner is not sewed into the glove as well, so when you pull it off, the fingers inside want to invert. They got rid of the awesome pull on loop. They added an extra layer of palm protection which i feel decreases the feel on an ice tool, but might help with durability. Over all they are not quite as well designed or manufactured as the old Verts. However, they are still the best glove I've found for ice climbing. Also works well for spring skiing, winter hiking, running, cross country skiing, shooting guns, smoking weed, and making out.
