Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
So far, so good. The boots run true to size. Great looking boot and holds its own on the mountain. Excellent rigidity in the sole for rock hopping and the ankles feel secure. They seem to have a narrower fit in the heel, which is great for me to get proper heel lock. the leather is smooth so scuffs and scrapes tend to show up noticeably, but they are hiking boots not dress shoes so who cares. To this point they have few cons. The heat they trap can be awful (I live in the desert), despite not having goretex (though all leather boots have that tendency). Also, I find the boot limited in its ability to lace up tight enough above the ankle. the lacing system overall is great, but my shins are just too skinny and even with the lacing as tight as can be up top there is some spare room. This might not be a problem for other folks, however. I would definitely recommend and purchase again.
